VPN007 provides an encrypted tunneling solution between your computer and our relay servers in the US West Coast and various hubs in Asia. As a user, you use the Internet normally, except that your data is encrypted en route and the outside world only sees our IP address. It's as if you're surfing the web from an outside country --- with freedom and security. This also allows you to view websites you otherwise can't, such as facebook, youtube, pandora, and hulu.

Who typically uses a VPN?

Will VPN007 slow down my system?

No, it won't slow down your system, though Internet browsing speeds will depend on which website you're accessing. Foreign websites will generally be faster, whereas local websites (those hosted in your country) may be slightly slower. Give it a try. How are you different from a web proxy service?

We're much faster, work seamlessly with all applications, and more secure. A proxy works only with your web browser, whereas VPN007 secures all your Internet applications including Outlook, Skype and MSN. Furthermore, web proxies can be slow, unreliable and unsecure.

Can I use your VPN to replace my ISP?

No. VPN007 works together with your existing Internet connection to make it better and more secure, but it does not replace your ISP.

Will VPN007 work with my computer's operating system?

VPN007 works with Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7, and Mac OS. It also works with other systems like Linux, though we won't be able to provide detailed support on the setup. If you're a Linux user, you should get yourself an OpenVPN client for Linux here and then use that to connect to our network. After signing up, email our support team and we'll send you configuration files.

If you use Windows Vista, you will need administrator access to the computer. Most individual users have this, though some corporate users may not. If you run into any problems during setup, just email us and we'll switch your account to a different protocol that doesn't require administrator access. In other words: we'll make it work, no worries.

Will VPN007 work on my smartphone?

Yes. We can give you a PPTP account, which will work on most smartphones like Nokia Series 60, Windows Mobile, Android, and iPhones. Just let us know after you sign up if you'd like to get this kind of account.

Do I need to open any ports on my firewall or router?

Generally no, though it's possible that certain non-standard firewall configurations may cause connection problems. If you run into any issues, please email us and we'll help you get them resolved.

This is seldom the case, but we will refund you if it is.

Can I use VPN007 on more than one computer?

Yes, you can configure VPN007 on as many computers as you like, though only one of them can be connected to the VPN at a time. If you'd like more than one to be using the VPN simultaneously, you should get an additional account. We suggest you try it out first, then get more accounts as needed.
